Does it have to have "Detroit" in the title or lyrics, or can the artist be named "Detroit" and the song be about our lovely city?

This is by "The Detroit Count". It's about a few places that used to be here

One of Hooker's seemingly endless variations on the "Boogie Chillen" riff, and a good 'un too.

That first line is as true today as it was in 1936.
Incredibly great stuff. She was a close friend of Detroit blues singing legend Sippie Wallace.

Love this. I had a vague memory of having heard this many years ago, and then, boom!, there it was. Would never have associated that sound with the Platters though. Great fun. Thanks!

"I Care About Detroit" just popped up on one of my Pandora oldies stations. I've never heard it before. Amazing that the issues in the song are still relevant so many decades later...
