    Gluttony.
    LMFAO! thank you

    There's a nice one on 13 Mile & Harper.

I forget the name of the place, it starts with an S, but definitely one of my favorites to visit.

I am not a crab leg maniac, but had a few there once or twice. One my favorite things there was their string beans... just perfect. Did they relocate?

Speaking of crab legs Ceasars Casino buffet has them there on one day of the week. They score them and cut them down to shorter sections for easier breaking/ eating... I still avoid crab night... too many people at the trough - appetite killer - LOL! Ceasars buffet has the best friend chicken for a casino buffet. It is called "jackpot chicken"!
I went to Jumbo's once...but it's been a long time since I was there...I went for a business function..I can't even remember how long ago it was...it had to be in the early to mid 80's...all I can remember about Jumbo's is that they had the biggest buffet I had ever seen in my life...In addition to Asian they had everything else...and I have not seen a buffet that huge since. The casino's have huge buffet's but nowhere near the size of Jumbo's.... I don't know if they're still open...I'd like to go. The food was great and plentiful...especially those crab legs...yummy.

Now, to return to the minor threadjacking, buffet's are good for trying out for familiarizing yourself with a new cuisine. Some are sloppy, of course, and that's always disappointing.

That, and I'm not above pigging out.

Jumbo's is closed... too bad. It was de' bomb. They had the best steamed string beans! I have a love/ hate relationship with buffets - LOL. In a way I hate them, and try not to go at peak times or special days like 'mothers day'. Ick, too much like a feeding trough for me then...

And certain things I never eat at a buffet like that 'fountain' ice cream and other dessert areas where the kiddies hang out. I let my sweet drink or coffee be my 'dessert'. Parents are not attentive enough, letting their kids drool around those dessert/ ice cream areas, ugh!

I like Greektown Casino's, 'no-kids', basic no-fuss buffet for some of the items featured on it: the cat fish [[fried heaven), their musaka [[not exactly authenitc but I love it), their vegetable medley, and their almost always fresh pizza [[best I've ever had at a buffet!) and their coffee!

I totally agree with what you said about the ice cream at buffets. I saw a kid put his mouth over the ice cream spout and pour ice cream down his throat,,,,yuck

Ick... I just got an awful feeling thinking about that [[kids with mouths over ice cream spout). Again why I stay from the kiddy section of the buffet or the buffet period that cater to kids. Parents provide no home training or supervision! Crazy! The casinos are kiddy free!

People, people, people! You are missing the absolute best buffet in all of Detroit. This Big Boy has a location unique, I believe daily, soul food buffet. Forget the casinos and the crappy chain buffets this is where it is at. If you have never been, you must go! Everything from the fried chicken, collared greens, mac and cheese, ribs and the always delicious peach cobbler is prepared with love and tenderness. All priced around $18 per person.

Actually kids are allowed to eat at the Motor City Casino buffet because they don't have to go inside of the Casino to get into the buffet...I just had dinner there for my nephew's birthday a couple of weeks ago and his kids all under 10 yrs were there.

I remember eating some incredibly bland food at Sveden House in Livonia when I was younger. I think that may still be around.

My parents liked going to Sveden house because all the food was mushy...kinda like Country Buffett.

Yeah, that BBoys does have a nice buffet. Who ever is in the kitchen is working it out. Yummy, and affordable!

Yeah, no buffet food is for dieting per say, so when I go I want the stuff to be flavorful and Svedwen house is blah, bland eck..... not my favorite.

Oh yeah that's right. I must have lucked out to hit when no kids were there. Still it does not have the 'chucky cheese' feeling that some full family buffets have....

Golden Corral has good food for an inexpensive buffet. It is cash only. You get a free cup of coffee during dessert even if you bought a different drink. It has free meals for Veterans [[and I think Servicemembers) on Veteran's Day.

Lunch at the Westland location seems to almost always be the same entrees, even the featured ones. Golden Coral has a chef's area where the priciest food is cooked and then placed out.

Very good and fresh salad area.

    Soups just ok.

    Extensive Dessert Area.

Golden Corral on Hall Road in Clinton Twp takes credit/debit cards.
