^^^^ Hmmm, speaking of Buffets recently, I went first time to Golden Corral on Hall Rd -- Clinton Twp. You know it's not high cuisine going in, but the items I selected to eat were good but the whole scene Saturday was heading towards super busy, packed crowd anarchy as we left [[before 4:30 PM), Hah!

We were a large gathering [[over 10) and our table was kept orderly and soft drinks replenished quickly. Fried chicken was great, salad fresh, the other items ok, very good bread pudding. I don't do chocolate fountains and the like where double-dipping, etc is frequently bound to happen with kids about.

I would like to know of other buffet options a bit less trafficked for when the 'try out many things' mood hits. Anyone have any current suggestion?

Golden Corral is a good buffet; I've enjoyed lunch as well as dinner - I have as of yet to check out their breakfast buffet. I have only been to the one @ Hall Rd. and Hayes - I highly recommend it.

I'm 6'4" and 220# and don't have nearly that capacity. I'll stick to small Chinese.
But I had a workmate that size, And we scared the hell out of them when we showed up with our own cutlery.

I only want to go a good buffet once in a while, eat a few delicious yet 'decadent' things I refuse to cook at home anymore like fried chicken or pork chops and some desserts I don't/ can't make. I no longer attempt to try even half of everything they have.

That's too much of a combo on my stomach. Too much food... I see some folk that waste and just keep eating like a frenzy. All power to that I guess......

how can you say this buffet is good, Kids running around all over Parents should serve them, Kids sticking their fingers in the chocolate fountain.[[how gross). Country Buffet was much better. The food is way to salty

^^^Hah! You make some points, for sho'!

Golden Corral is ONLY good if you arrive before 1 PM and leave before 3:30 PM and never go on a holiday, or Sunday. And yes, I avoid any candy or desert doo-dad that pours or jells and I AVOID ALL FOUNTAINS of anything, anywhere, even a fancy wedding. Those are just contamination-recycling machines!

All buffets are a bit high on the germ potential, so that's why I only do it once in a while.

The. Big Chinese buffet restaurants in Montréal look like Casting Central for "My 600 Pound Life", Whatever they lack in authenticity, they make up in quantity. Once in awhile as Zacha341/says....

Buffet at Motor City Casino always has been pretty good. I haven't been there in about a year but I never had any complaints other then it's a little expensive.

I know the above was posted in 2009, but the Indian buffet near OU is Rangoli at 3055 W. Walton Blvd. in Auburn Hills. It's still a good buffet in 2016.

For fans of Old Country/Fire Mountain/Hometown Buffet, load your plates! They just filed for bankruptcy again. One of these days, they may actually have to close up shop . . .
