    That's not true. There was a steep drop off in the 1990s that corresponded to the nationwide drop in crime during that period of time. Since there was relatively little population loss in Detroit during the 1990s, it was a real drop in the crime rate.

    No, you didn't read my entire statement. There was not a steep drop in residents in the 1990s. It was Detroit's most stable decade since the 1940s.
