Kwame doesn't reflect on me as a Detroiter

I live in Warren, and after we found out that Mayor Fouts has been lying about his real age for years [[including on affidavits of identity), with the city depleting a $30,000,000+ fund balance in his first four years, the voters in Warren still voted him in. Here we are three tax increases later with Mayor Fouts... He's a loony.

That's because voters in general, whether it's Fouts, Kilpatrick, Bush, Nixon, or whoever, tend to vote with emotion, vote on name recognition, and do very little fact finding.

One of the things I hate about this country is how minorities not only have to wear the labels put on us, we have to go out of our way to prove ourselves different from the sterotype.

It's marginalization in a way white Americans wouldn't put up with. But then look at this city/region. The white majority wouldn't tolerate alot of the bullshit black/poor/Detroiters are expected smile and shut the fuck up about.

Detroit is definitely not the only city where this happens. At least, you can find comfort in the fact that these people do get prosecuted.

True, but in most cities, corruption just takes a little gravy off the top. In Detroit it cuts into the meat and the bone.

KING KWAME! Never reflects anyone who is Detroiter or a suburbanite. He was a 16 year old traped in a 30+ year old body. He had known better. His parents raised him well. He was a football player, a lawyer, a Michigan state representative and a Mayor of Detroit and a family man. He threw his profession away for some pimping lifestyle, money, text sex, greed and power. I NEVER voted for him due to fast pace in politics and I never voted for him again for his troubles. However I do forgive him and his troubles. I hope other people will do the same. In the meantime Kwame remains in jail until he goes to federal prison for 15 to 20 years.

To all you black leaders in America past, present and future. Don't get into trouble, let trouble come to you and bring it.

Kwame does not reflect on me because other politicians do bad things too.

If he was the only corrupt politician then it would reflect on me, but once you get two or more corrupt politician it is like a double negative they cancel each other out [[as long as we have an even number of corrupt politicians).

Call me crazy but I get the feeling that the Illinois electorate isn't put under the same scrutiny as Detroit voters.

Of Illinois' last seven governors, four have ended up going to prison. They are:

_Rod Blagojevich – Governor from 2002 through 2009, when he became the first Illinois governor in history to be impeached. Convicted of numerous corruption charges in 2011, including allegations that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's old Senate seat.

_ George Ryan – Governor from 1999 through 2003. After leaving office, was convicted of racketeering for actions as governor and secretary of state. In November 2007, began serving a 6 1/2 year sentence in federal prison.

_ Dan Walker – Governor from 1973-1977. Pleaded guilty to bank fraud and other charges in 1987 related to his business activities after leaving office. Spent about a year and a half in federal prison.

_ Otto Kerner – Governor from 1961-1968. Resigned to become judge, then was convicted of bribery related to his tenure as governor. Sentenced to three years in prison.

I gave a tour to a Scottsman this weekend. He is my wife's 2nd cousin, a former staffer at Bank of England, spent a good portion of his life in the Middle East, Africa and the Far East. A smart guy. An experienced guy.

Story here was that the mayor's party had a safe so filled with cash money that they couldnt close the door. The mob got three percent and the city's leading party got three percent. [[there is a party system here, no independents) The six largest construction firms in the core city got most of the contracts by alternating fixed attributions by city engineers on the take. All these firms were run by families who came from the same villege in Sicily that the Godfather came from; Cattolica Eraclea.

One city engineer admitted 700,000 dollars worth of baksheesh, and mitigated this by saying he had at least contributed to the state by spending hundreds of grand at the Montreal Casino. The mayor of Laval [[biggest suburb) who stepped down from office also is under investigation for major fraud. A condo building where he owns a million dollar condo was built despite serious deviation from code ordinances allowing a 15 story structure in an eight story limited zone. Lawyers say citizens have a strong enough case to have the building demolished. This is only a small sample of what has been found so far about his dealings.
