Thank you for the picture. In the theme of Detroit area masonic temples, would you by chance have any photos of the old Highland Park Masonic Temple that was located on E. Buena Vista?
I know I'm being an armchair YouTuber here, but I'd like to add this:

George E. Lawson was the president of the Peoples State Bank, the largest bank in Michigan at the time. It's list of directors was like the who's who of Detroit - Alger, Barbour, Hecker, Newberry, etc. He died in 1916, so only enjoyed his house for three years.
Wilbur W. McAlpine seems to have been involved in manufacturing and real estate, including the Detroit Furnace & Heater Company and the Williams Lake Land Company. Some things didn't go so well:
Detroit March 6, 1911 - Wilbur W McAlpine McCurdy C Lebeau L Holmes Arthur Albert H Roehme George W Ross Frank D Andrews all of Detroit and John M Bushnell of Chicago Were indicted for conspiracy to defraud the Government of 48,000 acres of coal land in Alaska valued at more than $ 50,000,000 Alleged It was induced that they had more than 200 persons to make fraudulent entries in the interest of a corporation and that with these were others who had been deceived...
My grandfather was a partner in this firm and I would love to find out more about this building and any others for which you may have information.
Thanks!
Here's the plan of a typical floor of the Parkstone.
An interesting feature of the design is that a number of the apartments are able to be combined into larger units. For example, the apartment in the lower left corner could easily be joined to the neighboring studio, creating a large two bedroom apartment. Also, many apartments had large closets that contained Murphy Beds. Also, some of the larger units had wood-burning fireplaces.
The first floor, just to the right of the front door, was an elegant restaurant which later became a high-end Polish restaurant. Both used white linen tablecloths and napkins. I don't recall the name of either. Around the corner on the Agnes side of the building, the Parkstone Pharmacy, an old fashioned drug store was located. Later it became a series of restaurants.
Also on the first floor, to the left of the front door and lobby, is a large, elegant reception room.
Al least until the early 70s, the Parkstone employed a uniformed doorman.
Thanks for that floor plan, Nelr. I lived at the Parkstone from '79-82 and I had one of those "2-in-1" apartments you describe. Two bedroooms, two baths, dining room, pantry, hardwood floors, it was a great place to live. I moved out when I got married and moved to Lafayette Park. Bad decision on both counts.
BTW, I think the upscale Polish restaurant in the lobby you mentioned was the Royal Eagle as I recall. Binno's was around the corner on Agnes as well.
If you were there in '82 we were almost neighbors, as I lived in the house on Parker next door to the Parkhurst. Thanks for that floor plan, Nelr.
