What an unfortunate updating of the "sun parlors."

To me, the individual apartments at 1001 Covington, The Walbri, are comparable in size and elegance to those in The Garden Court and Indian Village Manor.

One of the selling points when the Walbri was first being rented was that there was a room to store baby carriages off the lobby. Also notice that each apartment had windows facing all four directions which aided in the ventilation of the unit.

It's nice to see they haven't broken up the apartments. At 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and 2500 sq ft, the condo listing below is an alternative to a standalone house:

I very much enjoy this thread great pics. I was lucky enough to work inside 1 island GP
address . In the 90s I worked for the owner many times.
Then after the house was sold the pool house and new coach house was kept along with
    water front and island property.
Old man CURRAN would tell stories about the party's at the Dodge home.

Holy crap!!! Burbrook [[Marcus Burrowes' personal residence in Farmington Hills, which we've all lamented as very likely beyond hope) has been completely restored!!! The listing says it's not for sale, but the photos look amazing!!!!!!

Hats off to P69rrh51, you continue to blow me away with your ability to find the most obscure information on detroit architectural history. If you enjoyed this Greyhaven post then please checkout Post #217 I posted back on June 22, 2012, it contains very detailed info on the home that was at the foot of Port drive that was my Great Grandfathers home, William G. Koerber of Koerber Brewery fame. The Koerber family with its 9 children [[my dads mom being one of them) lived in the grand estate on the river for almost 50 years, from 1928 until 1974 when the City of Detroit under the force of eminent domain purchased the property and then razed it to make way for a marina. Along with the Garwood Mansion burning in the mid 70s it was the end of an era and dream that Edward Gray started back in the late teens after he left Ford Motor Co and developed the land that would become Greyhaven along the river. I was fortunate enough to have been in both houses [[although Garwoods was a burned hulk of a house when I explored it as a teenager) I loved rooting around those canals Mr Gray created. Thanks again P69 for your stellar research.

Thx Eastside. A family member has sent me several images of 693 and we have chatted quite often about the house.
