Default Paging Peggy O. [[and other Romantiks), tponetom

“Where have all the “Romantics” gone? Long time posting,,, think Fantastick’s
    .
Have I been away too long? Searching through the archives, I find more than a few members, that have not posted lately. Hmmm.

In any event I am working on a Christmas Carol of sorts for Peggy O.
Gushing the Mush? No! I can ovulate better than that!

    THE UNANSWERABLE QUESTION
    Paging Peggy O!

    Prologue

Is the impossible dream,,,, really impossible? [[I dream it every night.)
I nurture it, I obsess with it, and I awaken with it, lying beside me, in the morning.

So what is the Unanswerable Question? My actions may speak louder than words.

    NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS.
    But forever and a day.

    69 Years Dec. 1, 2009

I have loved you for sixty nine years, without abatement.

It began with a single spark that ignited the fuse. That burning fuse raced to my heart and caused the catalytic explosion of passion that never ebbed.

Early on, I was confronted with the ‘chicken or the egg’ syndrome. Did I need you more than I loved you, or did I love you more than I needed you?

These past few years have finally answered and resolved that dilemma.

In those early years you endured me, tolerated me, nurtured me and finally, anointed me with maturity. It was a heroic and horrendous effort for you, but you persevered.

Now, in the brilliance of our twilight years, we can look back and see, with wondrous clarity, all of our travails during those years. And what a pittance they were when balanced against the treasure of time that has been allotted to us.

Now, during the last few years, I glory in being your care giver.

I cook and clean and do all the dishes,
And I fulfill, all of your wishes
I sew and repair, I shop till I drop
And of course I wield, a vicious mop.

[[I will never get rid of that whimsey in me.)

But Writer[[s): Cahn/Chaplin/Freeman/Holiner, say it more romantically:

"Until The Real Thing Comes Along"

With all the words, dear, at my command
I just can't make you understand
I'll always love you, darling, come what may
My heart is yours, what more can I say?
