RIP Greektown: Laikon Closing

The frame for the walkway across [[over) Monroe street, to the casino, has been constructed. These guys are moving fast. I’ll try to get some photos tonight and post.

I'm guessing that the expansion of "Greek" food into the suburbs has killed Greektown more than any casino could. It's sad to see saganaki cheese advertised in Coneys. It kind of devalues the experience.

Just like all those coneys in the burbs devalue the experience at the American and Lafayette Coney Islands?

How is Golden Fleece? I've never been, but I'll be staying in Greektown for 2 nights for a wedding next week and can always find time for a gyro.

Golden Fleece? I always thought it was Golden Fleas! Actually, I love their gyros. Sometimes I'll get the ones with double everything and rationalize all the calories and cholesterol by choosing rice instead of fries.

Wow Detroit, nice work messing this one up. Everyone in the planning department should be fired for allowing the destruction of this street.

This response the lack of Detroit Fire Dept. will put KING BING out of office. Candidate Mike Duggan will use this tactic to make sure that public services in Detroit area will not be cut.
