That’s why I hardly come here any more. Let’s not do anything cause we don’t do anything! That kind of thinking is what got us here in the first place.

I feel for these folks and wish the best for them, but if you don't pay your mortgage, you don't get to live in your house.
While it's sad that the place they call home will no longer be their home, this is an opportunity for them to get into a rental situation that costs less than owning a house. When renting, so many expenses go away. No more maintaining a house, fixing appliances, getting a new roof, mowing your grass, etc...
Simply put, these folks can't afford their home and need to get into a less expensive situations.
Best wishes to them.
Simply put, the bank accepted the tarp funds, thereby ageeing to help modify mortgages for people like this.
The Henrys fell behind on their Countrywide/Bank of America mortgage
after Debbie had a stroke in 2008 and could no longer work full time.
The housing market collapsed that same year and the value of their
house fell by two-thirds. In the aftermath of the crash, Bank of
America and Fannie Mae were bailed out with billions of taxpayer
dollars.
That's odd!
Did the Henry's read the Countywide/BOA's fine print of the on those their mortgage? It mortgage a promissory LOAN agreeement between the creditor and you. When you buy any home plus a mortgage, technically you're not the legal homowner. You're just paying rent by co-option to buy until the mortgage payment is cleared. Then you're the legal homeowner.
Did Debbie Henry prepared a safety net before this worst case scenario happens? After all your job is heart of the income. Lose your job, lose everything!
By the way if those protesters want to save the Herny's happy home. They should protest over 70,000 Detroiters in the ghetto slums who are lost their homes in the flash, too. That would be fair.
Exactly right. Thats what they are trying to do, you have to start somewhere.
