Lowell or Andrew, please move this to the Non-Detroit section by now...it is too far gone to be about anything in Detroit.
Thanks,
John

There's some information regarding Carlos Marcello's role in the JFK assassination here.
Tickling a dead horse...but HERE is your Umbrella Man, MikeM. This is why they had to find a dupe for the House Select Committee on Assassinations in the seventies.

Whoa, the follow-up from that page is pretty volatile:

Gannon,
I know you really don't think Zug is the culprit, but I wanted to report
To you something I found odd. When the city of River Rouge got on
Board with studying the cause, I noticed a substantial drop in the hum
I hear here in the west end of Windsor..... Then it more or less stopped
All together.... for me anyway. Then fairly recently RR pulls out of the study
[[ no cash?) and wouldn't ya know it..... Started right back up!
I dunno. Just thought I'd check in and report my findings!
Edit: don't know why it posted like that.....stupid iPod!

Thanks for the feedback!
While I don't think Zug Island is the main component of the hum which seems to plague so many, some process or machinery on the island may certainly add energy that may excite some resonances nearer to it.
Then again, if there is some nefarious group with control over local frequency induction into the AC grid...as long as they're not asleep at the switch, they may have turned things off to avoid discovery, too.
Very curious. At least we're pretty sure Mother Nature isn't willing to stop the Schumann Resonance for only a small portion of the surface of her Earth, so that limits the possibilities of that speculation.
And it IS still speculation, postulation, guessing...until someone can measure it more directly. Determine more precisely the frequencies being used. I've found myself making more music, with guitar and voice and even whistling...rather than merely being annoyed by this low-level noise. When I remember to do that...my days start and go better.
If anything, this has gotten me more sensitive to environmental sounds, especially the residual ones, everywhere I go now. I slept soundly last night for the first time in forever, but that is likely the l-triptophane gorging and the 6-mile jog with 21,000 of my closest friends yesterday downtown. Gobble-gobble.
Please tell me that Canadians don't participate in this insanity we have over here called Black Friday. Our shopping addicts get a pass today and roam free, well at least spend freely on their plastic cards.
Cheers,
John

I usually keep the radio on at night to serve as white noise. Anyway, I work up in the middle of the night and Coast to Coast AM is having a discussion about a low level hum that is being heard all around the world. Of course they wandered out into the weeds about the source.
I think I heard it the other night, about 3 in the morning. Kind of sounded like a train idling. We do have train tracks within a mile of the house, but it doesn't operate at that hour of the morning.
This is a shameless bump, so someone can find this thread easily.
Yeah, it hasn't gone away. I just got sick of talking about it.
I'm hearing the hum now.
Funny you should say that term, "white noise", WKL. When I spoke with our next-door neighbor, asking if she or any of the men in the family had any trouble sleeping...or hearing this hum. She said everyone slept with fans running in their rooms all night, throughout the year, to create white noise so they could sleep.
I find that curious! Any local noise will mask this hum...but it still has enough power to stir people in their sleep. I've noticed my partner stirs when the pitch and intensity changes...same nights she has weird nightmares.
Main reason I'm pondering that MindBox stuff, actually. Trying to help her sleep.
Cheers,
John
With regards to Zug island, whats up with that place? Who works there? What do they build? [[I know what it is/does from common knowledge) Given the source of the Windsor Hum seems to be narrowed down the Zug Island by the Environment and Natural Resources ministry, how is it that no one who works there talks? Surely if you work there, the noise created must bother you as well and you'd talk to your neighbour/doctor/friends about your working conditions. Steel mills are not exactly top secret [[or are they?) installations that have some area51 type security and hush hush around it.

When i worked DPD you could not get onto the island. You had to go to their security post and if needed you where escorted. I always felt something was wrong with that picture.
I live near Little Mack and Stephens in St Clair Shores, and I hear it at night. Its NOT traffic noise.
I found this YouTube video someone put up, and it sounds EXACTLY like this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf7jFNlq_mY
Anyone in your household having troubles with nightmares or waking up at exactly three or four in the morning?!
This hum has gotten slightly worse near Mack between Alter and Cadieux...but I got tired of talking about it. I just jam in my Mack's earplugs and try to get on with life.
I'm just curious about those who don't perceive it. I realized the other morning that may be due them being caught up in the buzz themselves. Once you've achieved parity with a thing, it is barely noticeable, if at all. Like motion, or air quality...until it changes, we adapt to the 'norm' and it becomes our frame of reference. This sound is even tougher to pin down because our perceptual system weighs closer and louder sounds more heavily...and relatively ignores the ambient.
Regardless, it abrades my nervous system...
Cheers anyways,
John
Linda Moulton Howe had discussed this humming noise on the radio show "Coast to Coast" which comes on CKLW; 800 on the AM dial. The show airs at 1:00am to 5:00am everynight. The host George Noory as well as other host discusses strange phenomenom such as this, UFOs, ghosts, conspiracies etc. This humming noise and other loud noises are occuring all over the world. You might could youtube Coast to Coast discussses strange humming noise
What brand of "tin foil" does everyone prefer for their hats?
My buddy Carlos Santana who works on Zug Island told me they are the source of the Hum, and that it is taboo for employees to speak of it in any official capacity, sounds like some kinda evil woman soul sacrifice thing
It seems the stuff commonly available is all aluminum now. If anyone finds real tin, let me know.
I'd rather use a layered mu-metal/copper foil...way more effective and can be molded into a variety of styles...but so damned expensive!
Cheers!
I've been having weird dreams, and trouble sleeping. A lot of times, I wake up with a splitting headache. I know the sound comes from a southern direction. It is a resonating sound, and travels right through the brick walls of my house. I know it's not in my head, because earplugs will block it out!Anyone in your household having troubles with nightmares or waking up at exactly three or four in the morning?!

Is this just noise pollution or SOMETHING ELSE? Maybe I notice it because I'm NOT under mind control... LOL!?
Great comeback but it seems a "Tin Foil Hat" is made from aluminum foil.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tin_foil_hat
Oh, Wheels...it is so tiring to school newbie conspiratists...Wiki is the easiest on-line information source to bastardize with disinformation.
If an aluminum foil hat was good enough to shield EM radiation, why bother bringing up tin?! Even if just to make the British theorists mispronounce it and amuse everyone else...got to spice up the annual Conspiracy Theorists Convention, yanno.
Aluminum only has an atomic mass of under 27...while Tin is over 118. It may work as one or more layers of a sandwiched material, like I described above...but alone would do nothing but make one look silly.
That might be a conspiracy, one you're on the wrong side of...
If you prefer, you could always make a Faraday cage helmet. Provided that the mesh size is compatible with the EM radiation you're trying to keep out, the cage has the advantage of encapsulating your entire head while preserving a good amount of vision through the mesh.
