Default Best fried chicken in the Detroit area?

I've got a taste for some good fried chicken.
Where should I go this weekend?

It's a bonus if they have good mac & cheese

True, but they still have the best side of any restaurant.

Those broasted potatoes lathered in butter.

Pollo Chapin on Junction n. of West Vernor Highway is reputed to have great juicy fried chicken and Mac & cheese spiced up with chopped jalapenos. Metro Times has a review online.

Chicken Shack is broasted, right? Is broasted the same as fried? Either way, I like it and the potatoes.

I don't think broasted is fried. But their chicken has crispy skin and juicy meat. Not really greasy.
They have a website and I highly recommend them.
But they are not a FRIED chicken place as this thread intends.

I love Chicken Shack for their ribs and potatoes. But for fried chicken, you gotta get to Lee's in Plymouth.

If the Colonel had their recipe, he would have been a General.

Actually Lee's Famous Recipe is a variation of the Colonel Sanders recipe. Lee Cummings is the nephew of Colonel Sanders. He went on the road with his uncle selling spice mix [[KFC secret recipe) and pressure cookers in 1952.The rest is history. I'm not a big fan of either of those over-spiced brands. They are both too greasy as well. I think both are lucky not have to compete with Chicken Shack nation wide. Their chicken is far superior...

Wherever I go for chicken I always order 4 fried chickens and a coke ala Jake Blues just to see the clerks reaction.

Brosted is a combination of roasted and broiled, I think.
