Anyone know how many employees work at the microsoft office in southfield?
Wasn't there something about people seeing bears before?
If there had to be some kind of "mall" I would say it needs to be open air like Americana Manhassat.
Naw....I would say woodward [[between Clifford and Gratiot) would be more "touristy" with shops and restaurants unique to the Detroit area [[AllSaints, NikeTown, UGG, Uniqlo, Scoop, Grand Lux, etc)....
Bloomingdales would make the most sense. It would be more of a "destination" department store compared to Dillards
Better do what Southfield use to do. Have the fireworks on the same day and time as Detroit's.
Fairlane may benefit from this deal. Starwood may out money to actually redevelop the center
Sounds more like Taubman is trying to get capital for their international expansion.
Just no...I'm sure tSouthland, Fairlane, Westland, Briarwood will feel this....if it ever gets off the ground.
The Bad:
Neighborhoods will continue to decline, crime will continue to be a problem, and more abandon homes
The Good:
Downtown and Midtown will continue to flourish, spill over will happen to...
I'm just wondering is there any cocktails that are synonymous to Detroit?
True. It will be interesting to see what the metro area will look like in 30 years.
You were just talking about decay right after development. I was just saying they built it [[applies to Troy too) expecting that the suburbs will continue to be the dominant models of the future.
The thing about those buildings is that they were built in Southfields growth and beginning prime which was between mid 70's to late 80's. Mind you Northland area was fine during those times too.

Doesn't DC income taxes range from 4% to almost 9%?
I guess it is a more "positive" spin on ruin porn. I wish they would show some nicer neighborhoods though.
He passed in 2011.

Not sure if you're being serious or just trolling?...
The area where it's located is pretty central with what the Metro has to offer.
I think Southfield has a better chance of making this vision come true, based on how it's mapped out than Troy, but Troy would get the actual retailers.
Basically they want to be like these places.

Fighting crime really needs to be the focus, then education, and finally transit.
If they are doing all of that on Evergreen then what are they planning on doing with the Northland area?
