The owners of that building had talked about building a new apartment building on that site a few years ago and they had recently acquired the parking lot north of that building before demolition...
Good luck with that.
Because sidewalks are public property and they’re not doing anything illegal. The police can’t trespass them like they would if they were in the store.
I’ve never heard of them harassing anyone...
it’s the vacant lot between 75 and the arena. In the rendering the 75 service drive is the street at the bottom and on the right is Woodward. Before the arena was built it would have been the block...
Maybe it was the stupid name that did ‘em in
The Peterboro is closing for the rest of the summer for renovations and will reopen in the fall.
Gucci is supposed to open this summer and the building Target is going to be in hasn’t even broken ground yet. Both of these were just announced a couple months ago. Be patient.
Also I’m pretty...
The article literally states it’s being sold next month. It’s not closing.
Crain’s put out an article about this yesterday. I’m not a subscriber so I’m not sure if there’s any additional info in it, though.
Is this an actual proposal or just an architects concept for what could be done with the site?
I always thought that the former banking lobby of 1001 Woodward would be the perfect spot for an Apple store. I guess we’ll see. I definitely think we’re going to see more popular high end stores...
So its been public knowledge that the parents might be charged since, what, the day after the shooting? And yet law enforcement wasn't watching them? They could be days away by now. How embarrassing.
Dbusiness published an article today about Xhibiton’s opening.
I have a cousin who attends Oxford and knew one of the victims. I just found out about this and I’m at a loss for words honestly. Things need to change.
The only suburb Detroit might absorb one day is Highland Park and even that’s unlikely. Detroit doesn’t want to deal with the additional problems HP brings.
Everyone keep in mind that this is a CONCEPTUAL design and is only one portion of the development. There's definitely more to be announced as this occupies only a fraction of the site.
Woodward West is being built on the next block south at the southwest corner of Woodward and Stimson. The site I was referring to is a small lot directly on the southwest corner of MLK and Woodward.
The lot I’m referring to is right at the corner. It has a disused parking lot and a billboard on it. The Alamo site was just west of there between MLK and Stimson.
Finally!
There’s also a vacant lot on the southwest corner of Woodward and MLK. I’d imagine these three sites are pretty valuable so hopefully somebody’s working on development plans.
I’ve also only had this happen once. I was walking by Cadillac Tower and the guy wouldn’t accept no for an answer. I went into Cadillac Tower’s lobby and he didn’t bother to follow me in.
There’s plenty of four story buildings within blocks too. Not a big deal. Density is generally a good thing.
Godfrey didn’t buy the hotel, the company that operates/develops Godfrey hotels did. They own other branded hotels besides just the Godfrey nameplate. Westin will most likely be staying.
Yaaaaaawn
Construction didn’t begin yesterday. That vacant building is still on the site. Obviously that needs to be removed before they can break ground. I went by the site yesterday and there was no activity...
