Did you like your installation company? Worth the price?
Really cool that it includes U of D and the avenue of fashion. Did birmingham poo-poo the idea?
Yes, in Birmingham :p
Would be nice to get Google and Oracle's suburban offices to come downtown too. Also some less sexy but large companies like CA Technologies and ADP have suburban offices...
Will we see Yahoo move to Detroit?
what if he brings yahoo to detroit?
Camden and Newark are gentrifying too. So is Oakland CA.
This is a really nice store. Just came back from it. It's far nicer than the suburban meijer stores that I've been to.
I wish it was a bit more urban friendly in design, but I guess you can't get...
It's a shame that it's not downtown. You'd really think that they'd be the perfect kind of employer to rent space downtown. But definitely good for the Detroit area nonetheless.

Jill's in downtown Farmington is great independent drug store.
aren't kroger and hillers employees represented by the same union?
Or at least to move the Birmingham location to downtown. That would certainly be a start...and 150+ employees.
It would be nice if dan gilbert got his ear for something in downtown detroit.
I wonder if kroger bought hillers to put more upscale grocery stores in their portfolio. They have a very nice Kroger in birmingham that is more like a hillers. My bet/hope is that they keep them...
The police forces gain from destroying public solidarity with the protestors.
With GM in Macomb County, and Ford in Wayne, I'd like to see statistics on that. Especially if you include UM in Washtenaw now as part of the greater SE MI area.
Nope. Not since Coleman Young integrated the DPD
Is there any Room in the Ren-Cen these days? I believe GM owns that outright as well.
i bet gilbert could get GM to move a Decent chunk of tech center workers downtown if he really tried and GM was willing to hear it.
There are fewer auto jobs here in the Detroit area now than there were in the 1980s [[someone correct but I've seen this statistic before). The auto industry is the past. Bring the tech downtown and...
Good riddance to GM. The auto companies have caused so much heartache for the city. Just let them evaporate like they are already doing naturally. They have most of their workers up in Warren already...
Let's hope he's more like Palazuelo than Apop or DDI. The last thing Detroit needs is more rent seeking slumlords.
Even though the Jury is still out on Palazuelo at least he appears to be...
It's kind of surprising that a festival with modest mouse-esque millenial bands would have ever been in the suburbs.
Maybe if Michigan had gay marriage this could be an option. But at this point we're not really in great shape LGBTQ-rights wise.
Dan Gilbert is absurd. This is almost unbelievable. Detroit hasn't had a patron like Gilbert since Hank the Deuce, and possibly not even that since he was starting with so much more.

Odd that The founder of Benzinga was speaking about Oakland County Tech Startups?
