I think it is interesting to consider how, at the time of its release, "Giant Steps" probably was thought of as being fairly far out there. [[I can't be sure; I was alive, but I dang sure wasn't listening to John Coltrane.)
Pam, I am unable to defend myself against your playfully stern rebuke, except to say that what I call "blasting" may not even elicit a reaction from nearby citizens. Also, I like a bass to sound & feel like a real bass, so even if my car's audio system was able to produce that Thor, God of Thunder effect, I wouldn't use it that way.
