One of our steadfast posters, and active parishioner discovered the photos in the basement of the church and was kind enough to have the photos packaged and sent for copying.

Things to ponder..
The pictures are currently stored in large Hefty storage bags.
IMO, pictures should be displayed in proper fashion [[framed) in an area which offers the best and most frequent viewability.
If stored, where should they be stored? [[Z's concern of buildings closing and/or abandoned is a valid point)
What did other schools do that closed? What happened when the entire Parish closed?..Are the pictures stored with the Archdiocese?
Anyway, I'd hate to see part of our history lost.
Cool. I found it.

Wow! 7K, Wow! Thank You. That brought back a flood of fond memories.
I had forgot that Fr. Bodie was the athletic director.
It looks like the there were about 30 players on the team in 1961.
For a moment I thought that our question of team names might be answered in the program.
7K, When you get a chance could you download the files in photobucket also. There might be a little more detail gained by a larger format. Thanks Again!
Didn't realize that Jason's Bakery had four stores with the main store on Whittier.
The photorapher of the St. Jude 1961 football program is the one who took the aerial photo posted earlier in facebook.. Ed McGrath Jr.
Does anyone know no. 80?
When I called the Archdiocese last week, they said they don't store photos or other memorabilia, so they are out. They shouldn't be in plastic bags, I think that will further damage them. An interim solution might be hanging them in the Parish hall [[i.e. old convent) until we can come up with a permanent solution.
7, I love the program you loaded. That is so cool.
Looking forward to scanning it.
I see on the 1961 program back cover is an ad for my all-time favorite bakery, Jason's Pastry Shoppe. The name had escaped me, but certainly not the memory of those giant sugar cookies ... free to a little kid who apprecated them very much.

Thanks to the find of this SJ Football program I found the answer to a long standing question I had. I had mentioned many times about another Barber Shop on Kelly right where State Fair ends. I knew it was owned by a brother of Frank & Rudy Ruggeri who owned the market on Boulder. Well, it turns out it was Kelly Barber Shop [[Duh). No wonder I couldn't remember the name it was too simple.:p
I have a 1969 St. Jude Football program, and a 1965 Wish Egan Athletic Club; Annual Baseball Banquet program, with no way to download it at the moment. Scanner broken, camera stolen. Anyone interested, let me know, maybe we can hook-up.
Frank and Rudy had the best brownies!

Just saw this in todays paper. The Karas's were longtime members of the parish. Tom sang in the choir for a number of years also.
