Can anyone remember the name of the bookstore on Cass Ave that either Creem or The Fifth Estate......one of the two, I think but maybe at one time or another both......came out of in the late 60's? My mind [[an unreliable thing at best) says it was on the NE corner of Cass and Kirby, but......
Was that the one whose owner was killed a few years back?
you're probably thinking of Mixed Media. but the papers didn't "come out of" there [[other than probably being sold there)...
as an aside, i fondly remember hearing "Alice's Restaurant" for the first time there.
That's it. Thanks. One of the two [[I can't remember which) was edited there, possibly in the basement. It was about as eclectic a store as you'd ever want to walk into.
