Capitol Park Status

Anyone have any info on how the Capitol Park project is coming along? Would love to hear updates about the 3 buildings becoming apartments.

Capitol Park itself has been refurbished in a very attractive manner.

I believe his body is also inside the base of that statue as well. They relocated it when the park was redone.

The new Capitol Park is so refreshing compared to the previous Capitol Park by the way. It made a big difference to that surrounding area.

I'm moreso curious about the DEGC's plan to renovate 3 surrounding vacant buildings into apartments. Capitol Park itself looks great, but without the buildings around it being vibrant and occupied, it's a waste of time.

Stevens T. Mason has been buried in the park since June 4 1905. If I remember he has been disinterned twice since then for repairs/restoration work around his statue.

The DEGC announced renovations would begin six months from the original announcement, which was last May. That would put construction commencement in November, which has come and gone without a peep.

Got these last week, work is progressing on Capitol Park Building. The Detroit Savings Building looks almost complete and great at night with the new lighting. Another building that I didn't take pic of next door to Farwell is also under renovation
