Fabulous Strip Club Ruins of Detroit
How about a thread about The Fabulous Strip Club ruins of Detroit? I'm talking about an era where these establishments were called by a lot of names, but never "gentlemens clubs"! I'm a life-long eastsider, so I remember mainly east side clubs. The 7-VanDyke area was a hotbed of stripper action. Vandys, The Duchess, Please Station were all in that vicinity. And what was the club at either 6 Mile or 7 Mile and Mound Rd.? Bensons, Biscoes, one of those. My semi-regular stop was The Royal Coach on Whittier between Kelly and Harper. I could go on and on but hopefully some others will have fond[[or not so fond) memories of these places.
Name of the mud wrestling bar...
...on Eight Mile Road circa 1980? I think it was on E. 8 Mile. At a Positively Fourth Street Festival about ten years ago there was a female wrestling contest held on old gym mats in someone's backyard. I thought that was better than mud wrestling as the gals lined up spontaneously to throw down.
Anyone have any photos of female wrestling on 4th St? :)

Oddly enough, one of my favorite spots wasn't even a strip club. It was the place with the Belly Dancers on the corner of Lafayette and Baeubien. It's the same building that the Loco restaurant is in now. I used to go there in my early teen/high school years.
The original Bouzouki Lounge when it was a Greek club, not the strip club it is now. Wife used to drink there underage if they were there with a group of friends. Almost more like a private club at the time. You'd see the same group there almost every Saturday.
