Ok, let's say someone is visiting Detroit on a Friday night and wants to spend it doing something quintessentially Detroit-ish. What Friday-night activity, event, site, etc.. do you think would most leave a person feeling that they understand the city a bit better?
[[Note: I'm anticipating a lot of clever jokes along the lines of "Trade your food stamps for an eightball and then get carjacked at a gas station." Fine, but please, let's make them clever jokes.)
Greektown for dinner, Red Wings game
Concert at the Fillmore or St. Andrews, grab grub at Lafayette Coney Island before or after.
A 40 oz. and a blunt? :o
Pointlessly fixing an old car, drinking a 30-pack of Stroh's with Bob Seger blaring on the radio?

Definitely a stop by Lafayette Coney is a must. If it's the last Friday of the month a pit stop at the non-stop "dance your pants off" party called Funk Night is of utmost importance!
Fish dinner at Scotty Simpson's, hit downtown for whatever suits your fancy, then late night coneys at Duly's.
My God this one's easy---Dot and Etta's Shrimp Hut of course.
Drinkin a Faygo, munchin on some BBQ Better Made chips and then cappin someone for their car.
