The FDA's Long Road Ahead
Quote:
For the last 8 years, the FDA has been staffed with corporate shills who consistently pushed through dangerous medicines and devices that were never tested properly. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Americans were put in harms’ way, and many lost their lives. But now that Bush is out of town and his cronies have left Washington with him, we might finally have an FDA that will work for consumers, and not worry about the pharmaceutical industry’s bottom line. We’ve already seen a big reversal in the fact that President Obama has already agreed to give the agency their largest budget in history. Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio discusses the the new direction of the FDA with attorney and consumer advocate Ben Gordon.

Surfrider Foundation Fights For Beach Access
Quote:
Like most other states, the economy in Florida has taken a nosedive. The largest industry in the state is tourism, and with the recession headed towards a full-blown depression, that industry has almost completely dried up. But it isn't just the economy that's taking a toll on tourism. Limited access to clean beaches is also preventing people from enjoying everything the sunshine state has to offer. Mike Papantonio talks about how private landowners as well as the oil companies are trying to keep people off our beaches with Ericka D'Avanzo, the Florida Regional Manager for the Surf Rider Foundation.

No Small Task for Eric Holder
Total duration 19 minutes:
Quote:
What Attorney General Eric Holder inherited from Michael Mukasey and his predecessor, Alberto Gonzales, was not a Justice Department that was slightly confused about where the law began and politics ended. He took over an institution where, at least in recent years, politics had no end. Longtime employees were let go for not being, as Gonzalez's own staff put it, "loyal Bushies," and the loyal drones that were left in place used the agency to go after any Democratic politician or campaign donor that got in their way. Air America's Mike Papantonio talks about the immense task of cleaning up the department that now lies with Eric Holder with Dahlia Lithwick, contributing editor for Newsweek.
Cheney Revealed As A Terminator During Latest Speech
Cheney Revealed As A Terminator During Latest Speech
Quote:
Cross-posted at the
Huffington Post.
As we all have heard, both President Obama and former Vice President Cheney gave
dueling speeches today on the topic of national security. While the actual content of Cheney's
speech mimicked the attacks he's been lobbing for the past weeks, news was made in the fact that Cheney has finally been revealed as a cyborg.
As you will see, during Cheney's speech, a malfunction of some sort caused a small explosion which caused the Cheney-Borg's flesh-like covering to melt, thus revealing the endoskeleton hidden beneath. Take a look.
So, we now know that Cheney is a
Terminator designed by
Skynet to bring about the end of our civilization. Looking back, I can't say that I'm particularly surprised. It's something we all should have seen coming. All those heart surgeries? Tune ups. Upgrades for the C-1000. The Cheneynator. No, strike that. The Dickanator.
It explains his choice of language. Enhanced interrogations. Sounds like something a heartless machine would say.
It also explains why he keeps coming back. He's a machine. It's his programming. His mission is not complete. And it seems like he's unstoppable, but that's not the case. I've done some research, and there is one known way to stop a Dickanator and that's to prosecute him for his war crimes.
But, my guess is that isn't in the script, and it's too bad because I don't think C2 is a sequel any of us really want to see.
