New pics of the historic Lincoln Highway Bridge on FB
Already been there. So awesome. Thank you!!
Z received a really cool recording of Fr. Ording from another former choir member and wanted it posted to share with everyone, so here it is. Bear in mind that I had to turn it into a video to post it and don't mind the fact that all I did was slap a few pictures together to get it out there. It's the audio that counts.

I recognized that voice instantly when Z sent it to me - without identifying the speaker. Even after not hearing it in 40 years or so. Good job, Z & JC!
Yea, I had that feeling too.
I heard the music and the kids screaming and I thought I was having a flashback. It's not the Good Humor man but it brought back memeories
Is it possible to have the audio/picture of Fr. Ording put on the St. Jude Roman Catholic Church facebook website video section?
I tried, the problems I ran into was that unless you verify your account with FB it limits the size of the video you can dl and I really don't want to do that. It also won't let you post a link on the wall. I was hoping maybe when cfg returns from vacation she might have administrative privledges and can download it.
40 years ago today, my family was at Camp Dearborn. We had brought a little 12" b &w tv along and we watched the moon landing sitting outisde. It was a clear night and the wonder of watching it on tv and looking up at the moon, it was hard to comprehend what America had just accomplished.
And there are still people who believe that it was filmed on a soundstage somewhere. Go figure.
Watching my dad set up his camera equipment to take pictures of the moon landing on our black and white admiral tv only added to the wonderment of technology.
DISCUSS: Is there another ONE event in your life time that was a greater source of pride to be an American than the first man on the moon?
The day the hostages were released from Iran, although I still think it sucked that they waited until Jimmy Carter was officially out of office so Reagan got the credit.
Outside of how America was galvanized for a short ime after the 9-11 attacks, I still remember how cool it was for the July 4th American Bi-Centannial celebration they had at the Statue of Liberty in 1976.
my favorite patriotic moments - when Pres. Reagan said, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall", when they re-dedicated the Statue of Liberty in '86, when the American Legion played taps at my father's funeral, and when my son went up to Pres. Obama and was given his Naval Commission and diplona. The tears flowed at all of these.
WoW! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I was going to hear that voice again here on earth. I only expected to maybe hear it if I make it to the pearly gates [[if lucky enough toget there) and he asked the good lord to view my overall report card. Just don't want to hear " Sorry, your showing improvement, but maybe you can do better next card marking to get in here"
Here is a new and improved version of the video that JC has posted on the SJ FB page. Thanks JC for all your work on this.
