Hoover, call me old fashioned, but I'm pretty much just into Armani. I'm not saying that I might not show up in Ann Arbor sporting Helmut Lang. Hey, we'll be well past Memorial Day. If you need help at the door or collecting money, I'll dig out some Raf Simons from the 2007 collection. That'd be a hoot. If anything gets spilled though, you're picking up the dry cleaning tab. I'm more concerned with what to wear on Sunday.
John are you O.K. ?
I'm thinking about taking a boat over to the Mississippi this weekend, head north up to the Saint Croix and see if I can't find Bentspur. Think we might have lost him. Been a while.
Hey Candyman, if your dad would have been 105 this year, how old was he when he passed away? Did he own a welding company in Detroit? I thought you said he worked on the Ambassador.
Hey Hoov, it's apparent you haven't spent much time in Canada. It's rumour, not rumor. It's humour, not humor. Lot more ou's than in the states. Spellcheck is very provincial.and U.S. centric.
Glee, post 1414, Margie, post 1423, Candy, post 1435, each regarding religion and spirituality. Thank you all and AMEN!
I've always liked the oot thing too.
Rockinrona, you mentioned, Country Joe in Mt. Clemens. Were you referring to the Mt. Clemens Pop Festival? I posted about the Mt. Clemens Pop Festival here a few months ago. He played at least a few Free Concerts at Gallup Lake/Park, before splitting A2 for the west coast.

It's great to see you back!
Maybe your recovery be speedy, painless, and blessed!
I really missed you here, really missed you turning everyone's crank.

Jammin............Attachment 1077
wow ... thats the way hoover looked when he woke up !
Glmn.......Oh man!! Shades of Gage Street Studios. Pulls up some great memories. Get anything on tape? What's the P.A. system? How come Dave is so far away from his mike? What's Margie doing? Did your wife disappear for a while? Had to be a bit loud. You know, a good old fashioned basement jam isn't really fulfilling and productive unless the neighbors call the cops......at least twice. Mike....LOOKING GOOD, BRO. Sure wish I was there! Did Margie get a little "Stormy Monday" lick or two in there? We ought to go down south somewhere and build a little studio for ourselves. Somewhere sort of out in the woods; like in Tennessee; around Columbia, TN; no neighbors real close; fresh country air; bear shit; the whole works.
no recording..just a get-together to see whattsup -had the windows closed - roughed out some songs -[[which one was Gage street ?) ...yah I've got an old solid state Peavey 6-channel p.a. amp with 2 cabinets and 2 horns...does purty good...we will have a better pa at the gig...the ball mike in front of me works great- the other one between Mike and Dave is one of those skinnier ones [[SM58??) -[[don't know) but it isn't nearly as loud and I had to crank it to make work ..you know, I'm NO sound guy [[just play and feel) like always...I don't know the whole impedance thing or even what the word means so anything could be wrong- you know, cords, grounding..etc... and M brought her djembe and it was cool but we need to mike it for the gig
Sue and Gash had the house in Pontiac where we did the acoustic recording in the basement; Sue's dad owned it. It was on Gage Street. Robin wanted sleeve credit info so that's the name of the studio I gave him. Gash came up with the name. Sounds professional. To me, they'll always be the "Pontiac Basement Tapes". [[Album name?)
Dad was 89 just one month shy of 90 when he passed on to the great wide open. We did most our work out of the big "D" at Great Lakes Steel & Mc Clouth Steel and Fords Steel Company, But, the building we worked out of was in Dearborn, 1161 Howard Street. He welded on the Ambassador Bridge before I was born. He was one tough Cuban. Born in Havana, he came to the US at 16 and became a citizen to work and support the family after Grand Dad died.
Candy...I had the pleasure/honor of meeting your dad one day at the place in Dearborn [[Massey Welding?). I say that because Gus was with me and maybe one other crazed hippie. I can't remember. Anyway, you were welding a gas tank leak, and here we all were hanging out at his shop [[all torqued out) and it didn't seem to phase him. Not even a second look, and he was really friendly. That's what I remember.

Attachment 1086 That same party night , Still hurting I were out parking cars at the party when the guys said Larry was with security at the bridge collecting $5.00 a car Load wow mom wow, Know wonder they kept that song for the end. every time, Vol of America.:p
Rona......you promised!!
Now that's a verrrry nice bull dorado you've got there. Any tail dancing shots?
Glmn.....sounds like the weak mike is an impedence mismatch. Those Sure SM-58s were not recording standards microphones, but you could drive a nail with them and they still worked. All around pretty good mike. Check input impedence on P.A. amp; might be a selector switch. The 58s were 4ohms output, I'm pretty sure. The skinny one looks like an Electro Voice; ohmage unknown. They made a EV-15 that was pretty durable; skinnier than the one in the photo.
Larry, that's pretty much what I was thinking.
Hey!! All you cowboys!:D
Attachment 1087
ohM.... ya Lar... I was thinking that too, but I put a checkmark on the impedance googleheimer and it overrode the master switch witch, which voiced over my 4ohm gravel-tone modulator, if ya know wut I mean...
