Well I went and scrounged for it! Jeff Zients has a web page
intended for information for the press, but it wasn't useful for
what I was looking for, which was a percent vaccination breakdown
for the Federal government, department by department.
Here it is.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/brief...ral-employees/
The CDC is part of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Note that employees probably could obtain exemptions from
being vaccinated and then be included in the compliance
figure. Note that some branches of the federal government
are exempt from the vaccination mandate.
However, though it would take dedicated research and reporting
in order to verify this, the true number of vaccinated CDC
employees is probably at 85% or higher as of December 2021.
It is stated that close to 92% have received at least one
COVID-19 vaccine dose.
All that said, yes, the vaccine goalposts are
certainly going to move.
The medical centers are seeing some COVID-19 deaths of
people who have received two doses of the Pfizer Biontech
vaccine series in particular but not yet their booster shot.
When I received my second Pfizer shot in May, the medical
assistant said to be sure to keep the vaccine card in a safe
place and to bring it back for the booster shot. Booster
shots weren't in existence at that time. The staff just knew
that they would be needed so I just knew it too! :)
The Pfizer vaccine contained less mRNA than the Moderna
vaccine did. This fact is before the upswing of omicron
variant has made itself felt.
And yes, probably the federal vaccination requirement
goalposts will move right along with this as well.
And if that's the case, the percent regarded as vaccinated
among the federal employees might roll back to 70% or
some other number based on the morbidity and mortality
numbers being seen at that time.
So if someone would like to stick with a 70% vaccination
figure for the CDC and feel right about it that's their privilege! :)
[I currently have two Pfizer shots plus the booster plus
wear two masks indoors unless alone or eating - a cloth
mask over a workplace issued kn-95 mask. About half of
shoppers yesterday at the big box store in Livonia
were wearing a single mask, typically a surgical mask,
sometimes a decorative cloth mask.
I'm old enough and fat enough that I would clog up
an emergency room if I didn't do stuff like this.]
