Raum.....Sorry, but that's the wrong Stonefront. Those guys are a heavy metal band out of Mexico that came along about 40 years after the original Stonefront Gar Wood mansion band broke up. You'll find the real-deal at:

thanks for checking in and welcome aboard.....it's been a long time since we heard from you.....
OG....or anybody.... is that the mysterious "pay phone" booth to the left of the front door entrance? A lot of folks swear there was a pay phone in the foyer, but I don't remember anything like that. Of course, that doesn't really mean very much.....considering.

That's funny Larry, I was just looking at a copy of that same photo a couple days ago and wondering the same thing. I think it was actually the doorway to the hall where several rooms were located on that side of the house.
I've also thinking that wouldn't it have been a bit tacky for the Woods to have a pay phone in their foyer? Say, got a phone I could use? I need to make a quick call. Sure, there's a pay phone in the foyer. Need some change?
Raum.....Don't let that stop you.
Happy New Year!!!!!...Want to wish all of you Peace & Prosperity for 2014....Whaler
Back at you Whaler.
A Happy, Peaceful, New Year to all.
Hello to all my old friends that live in warmer climates like Miami, N.O. Southern Cal, Arizona, etc. that send me almost daily emails telling me how nice it is there every day, I get it.:). I woke up this morning to a temp of around 18 below zero with a light wind [[don't know what the wind chill was, it really didn't matter.) My furnace wasn't working and it wasn't very pleasant.
I called a company to come fix it and they told me they were really backed up and it would probably be between 4 and 6 pm.
The temp in the house dropped to about 20 degrees by the time they got here. They fixed it around 4:30 and with a stiff wind outside I'm finally up to about 66 degrees inside and very happy.
It's tough here, a big 150 year old farm house in a cold climate. I guess I could afford to move to a warmer area but I've never been fond of cockroaches and crack addicts.
Thanks go out to Hoover who happened to call during the day and called back later to check on me. Looks like some even tougher weather heading this way. I live in Packerland but I'm not even sure I want to watch the game after being this cold.
Anyway, I know it's nice down south, but please ease up on the sunny notifications for now. I get it.:p
Love you all, have a good weekend.
OG.....I too am guilty of rubbing it in on the weather thing, but the current situation back there and on the East coast is no laughing matter, so I will back off a bit on SoCal weather reports. People die when things get that bad [[paralyzing cold), and that ain't something to be making light of. I remember the brutal cold spells like they were yesterday, and I can empathize with those trying to get on with their lives in those conditions.
If you remember, it used to get pretty cold at the old Garwood mansion from time to time. That old boiler was definitely on its last leg and running on borrowed time, and every time I went down in the boiler room to light it I said a little prayer because it was a life-threatening situation. I remember coming home from a road trip once and finding out that the pipes in the little kitchenette that was in my room had frozen and burst and the whole room was covered in about a 1/2 inch thick sheet of ice. Everything! It was quite a sight and rather beautiful to be honest. I wish John Collier could have gotten a photograph of that. Also, we always had a problem getting fuel oil delivered because there weren't very many drivers who wanted to take a chance going over that bridge during the blizzard. There was one old black guy though that would always make the trip for us. He thought we were "something else" so he would always make us the last delivery of the day because his truck would be lighter and he wasn't afraid of the bridge. I always had a half pint of whiskey for him to help take the chill off. He saved our ass many a time.
Cockroaches and crack addicts don't care what the temperature is.
No problem Larry. Monday they're predicting a high here of 13 below zero with an overnight low of 23 below zero and a wind chill of 48 below zero. I remembered a friend in Saskatchewan that I can email and ask them what the weather's like.
He who drinks wine sleeps well. He who sleeps well does not sin. He who does not sin goes to heaven.......................interesting.
Can anybody post again that air brush artwork of the Garwood mansion with the guitar forefront?
I want to make it my wallpaper on my tablet. I have a copy on my laptop, but have software problems and can't retrieve it. The search function here doesn't have an easy way either.
Besides, the new members would love to see it too!
And stay warm - except those in LA and Florida, you have my admiration.
Working on it Bigb.
Gary Markley's incredible talent here.....

Thanks Stone[[d),
That's the one. Now I'll have some explaining to do when it is noticed. And I will be happy to oblige.
Too bad this site does'nt have a photo only search function.
Thats happy. Smore? Slurring my english. hit? Cool dude. What? Slay.
Bigb....stay tuned. Gary Markley has sent me a couple of new files of his art work.
I'll probably be posting those images on the next page so they can stay up on this blog for all to see for a longer period of time.
