I'm in a Christmas mood today. Here is one of my favorites, and perfect for hunting season, too:

Today, I need a little Charlie Mars.
This cat had Ann Delisi giggling like a schoolgirl during their Saturday interview before he opened for Citizen Cope last month at the Royal Joke Music Theater.
He is a total gem of a pro. When he returns to Detroit, ya owe it to yourself to check him out.

And I might just keep this on repeat all day...play it through until their second song after 3:34...one of the best versions EVER of this famous piece of peace.

And now for some Ian Cooke. I vividly remember the night he and his band dropped into Audra Kubat's Dinner and a Show, on their drive from Denver to Toronto.
This guy is amazing...truly a phenomenon.

Think of this as a prelude at a Christmas midnight mass/service.

Aretha:Lady Soul.
Didn't realize until now that her song on side two had Eric Clapton performing 'obbligato'. Totally bad ass on vinyl.
Not a bad followup to "SET THE CONTROLS FOR THE HEART OF THE SUN" from Pink Floyd's controversial Ummagumma LP.
I'm having fun with a setup I haven't listened to since the loft...my old NHT 2.5 towers. Forgot how solid they sound.
Stayed up late listening to The Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers". It's been a bluesy sorta couple days.
This Aretha is taking me places...copyright 1968. Forty five year old vinyl. Still wigglin' from that groove. Amazing the sound I'm getting here.
Cheers!
Meet the Beatles in mono
shame the edge is rippled too much to play the first cut
