Do you think Tiger will win the 2009 Masters? I found myself hoping the current leaders would do well in order to challenge Tiger come Sunday when he makes his charge.

I would like to see him miss the cut. at -2, he still has a lot of work to do. We can't just assume he is going to make a push every Sunday, especially the way Perry is playing, and Lefty showed up today...so who knows

At seven back, you can't count him out. However, I think he only has a certain number of miracles coming in his career, and this year's Open doesn't appear to be one of them.
That aside, isn't Augusta just one BEAUTIFUL golf course?

Perry and Campbell are playing very well and make for a very nice buddies story. Mickelson looked good as well. Other players are ramping up their game. Good for the sport overall.

Yep. Missed the last hour yesterday. Tiger will need help from the leaders today.

If Angel and Kenny play today like they did yesterday, Tiger is gonna be watching from the clubhouse for a LONG time this afternoon

Tiger 2.0 in the house. Someone please bring some competition around. Please!

Remember that the surgery he had will likely take more than a year to rehabilitate sufficiently for him to regain his consistency and performance.

Tiger's back. That 22 foot putt he made on 16 was a thing of beauty to put him one up and allowing him to coast to the win.
I'm one of those who has no sense of awe of celebrities. They put their pants on one leg at a time just like me. But I'll make an exception for Tiger. Him....I greatly admire.

Michael Allen's exciting eagle on 9 was great. AK is young, but appears to have a mean streak just like Tiger. Mahan was exceptional in the final round.
We need a dedicated Sport Section for sports threads.

He is coming back, but a single performance is not a enough to tell...consistency is the name of the game. He is awesome though (even while in recovery from surgery).

Just being facetious, since CCbatson proclaimed knowledge in the Tour de Lance thread that Lance Armstrong is doping.

I believe golf may be one of the few sports free of performance enhancing drug use (likewise bowling)...not exactly a strength and/or endurance activity....precision/control/accuracy/consistency predominate and don't lend themselves to drugs.

Sounded like either Steve or Tiger ripped a fart upon first arriving at the 18th today (they were both smiling). And "get in the hole!" was funnier to hear on this the likely final Buick Open. Tiger appeared comfortable enough to risk testing a few ideas.

Tiger Woods is not only a superb golfer, but one class act as well.

Great pairing today. Will Tiger today avenge his 2006 loss to Padraig Harrington? "Get in the hole!"
Gotta love Harrington's confident swag. I love competition!
This thread should be moved to the sports section.
It will be the first time Woods and Harrington have played in the final pairing since the 2006 Dunlop Phoenix on the Japan Golf Tour, which featured a rare collapse by the world's No. 1 player. Woods blew a three-shot lead with six holes to play, then lost to Harrington on the second playoff hole. ---By DOUG FERGUSON (AP)

He (Tiger) is so reserved, it would be great to hear more from him as an inspiration for young people if nothing else.

What happened to Harrington? Did Tiger playing out of turn shake him? Being rushed?
Woods was asked if he won at Firestone because of the 8-iron he hit into the 16th for birdie, or Harrington being rushed.
"Both," he said. I think I hit a good shot that put a little heat him. But also, I think the worst he would have made would have been bogey." --- By DOUG FERGUSON (AP)

Tiger Woods stood up for Harrington and now faces an obligatory USPGA fine for his trouble.

That's hilarious. Unless the fine is in the 50 million dollar range, it won't even be noticed by Tiger.
That said, putting the leaders on the clock was a bush decision. I agree with Tiger completely.

If those are the rules, I am sure Tiger was aware of them, and decided to do what he did knowing the consequences...good for him.

USPGA fines were not levied against Tiger after all, however he remains atypically vocal about the discretion of the time watching rules official at the Bridgestone Invitational.
Tiger did not fart (sh1t) where he eats on the 18th on the final day of the Buick.
Any predictions for the PGA Championship this weekend?

Thanks for initiating the move request ccbatson:). Was it a private message to Lowell that did it? I did not want to unnecessarily bother him with this sort of thing.

Tiger has to start watching his temper. He's irritating a lot of his fans with his tantrums when he flubs a drive.

TIGER VS. WILSON (1:15 p.m.): Don't expect Mark Wilson to be intimidated by Tiger Woods today when the two tee off in a half-hour from now.
Yes, Woods beat Wilson to win his second U.S. Junior in 1991. But the underdog did own the lead with five holes to go and only lost 1 down. Their history as pros is pretty even, too.
In the four times the two have been played together since playing for par, Wilson has won one and tied another with Woods beating him by a total of just three shots in the other two. All four of those rounds came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard at Bay Hill.
