While
the Piquette Avenue Plant is renowned for the Model T, it
produced many more Model S [foreground] cars. This Model
S, along with the 1920 Model T behind it, stands against
the west side of the plant.
The
Piquette Avenue Plant was built and owned by Ford from only
1904 to 1911.
It
was Ford's first self built plant and was soon outgrown due
to the success of the Model T.
While
decayed, the plant is structurally intact. Currently,
it houses a laundry service on the ground floor while a small
portion of the upper floors are use for warehousing.
