Greetings
DetroitYES! Forum Members,
On April 1,
2009
DetroitYES forum was officially launched.
Sign up [register] and start posting
now. Your old forum login will not work. You must sign
up again. [Sorry about that. We tried hard to carry
over the accounts, but it didn't workl]
Click Here to sign up now.
It is simple
and quick
so, once again,
Click Here to sign up now.
What will
happen to the old forum and all the threads?
Nothing. It
will still be there, readable and searchable with links to
easily move back and forth via the dual menus you have seen
for some time now.
What is the
difference between the new and old forums?
At the most
basic level of posting and creating new thread, there is
practically no difference. It is quick and easy, almost
identical to what you are used to.
If you want to try
some practice posts, please visit
the
"Test Lab" forum
after you sign up, your
can-do-no-wrong sandbox for experimentation.
Your Profile
and Your Privacy
Upon creating
your new account, you will have a "profile".
You may want to adjust that profile which allows you to
expose as little or as much about your self, including your
picture, to other registered forum members. Your profile is not
open to the general public. Click UserCP [Control Panel] to
enter and tweak / pimp out your profile.
Please read
the Discuss Detroit sticky thread
"Showing
or Hiding Your Profile - Privacy setting"
to learn how to manage your
profile privacy.
New Features
New features include
personal accounts, photo albums, member messaging, a DetroitYES calendar
[to
which you may add Detroit-related events], polls, friending,
social clubs*, blogs*, multiple viewing options and even
'ignore listing' for hiding posts of a forum member whose
posts you may not wish to read.
*Requests for social clubs
and blogs are not provide by default, but we will favorably
consider requests for sincere users.
How can I read
up on this and learn more?
Start with
the
FAQ, then check out and
contribute to the
How-to
forum. Nervous? No problem mon. Just ask questions.
DetroitYES forum members are famous for their
kindness and willingness to assist others.
We hope those
of you who have helped with the testing will help answer the many
questions sure to arise by the many new features this
improved data base core software offers.
Best wishes
and let's go!
Lowell
